National Museum Month – "The Great Locomotive Chase" Movie at the Heritage Center

Join us for the Historical Society’s showing of the movie The Great Locomotive Chase.  Co-hosted with the Fallbrook Film Society, this classic movie tells the story of Fallbrook’s own Civil War hero, Rev. William Pittenger, and his heroic adventure with the famous Andrew’s Raiders, infiltrating enemy lines to steal a Confederate locomotive, disrupt railroad transportation and sabotage communications in the Civil War effort.

The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Mary Jane Safford Tent #92, will be presenting a reproduction Union uniform and an authentic GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) medal for display at the Historical Society’s Pittenger House in honor of Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Rev. Sgt. William Pittenger.

The movie will be shown in The Barn. Popcorn and drinks will be available.
Tours of The Barn, the Museum, The Pittenger House, the Ford Room, and the Gem & Mineral Room are available until 4:00 p.m.
